racism is prejudice plus power. You cannot be racist against white ppl. I like Riley and I reblogging their stuff but I don’t agree with everything on dumbthingswhitepplsay. I agree with a lot but not most. You missed the point of the original post to. White people have no room educating a POC on racism or discrimination, because they have never experienced it like a POC would have.

Actually you can be racist towards white people and a lot of the stuff you’re saying right now can easily be received as a form of racism. You’ve basically called everyone a racist for pointing this out to you based on the fact you think they’re white. You’ve told people that they are not allowed to be proud of their skin color if it happens to be white. You’re currently putting oppression on anyone who is white.

You’re telling whites that if they’re proud of their skin color, regardless to whether or not they’re against racism, that they are a racist and should be brought down, again all based on the fact that they are WHITE. You’re justifying discrimination and prejudice towards whites because they are white.

That is, surprise, racist. And before you dare call me a racist for being WHITE, I’ll have you know I’m of pretty well mixed race; I have members in my family who are as black as the ace of spades and others as white as sour cream and everything in between.

Racism isn’t actually ALL ABOUT privilege and in this day and age where in most places other colored people have just as much power as whites; that argument is becoming pretty outdated.

You shouldn’t put down one group of people in favour of another.

Personally, I’m all about equality; something that can’t be achieved by doing the above.

I think this hits literally every used point to ever remember the poor white victims of racism.

Also, the bolded part… for one “most places” pretty much defeats your own argument and for another, a couple of people succeeding in spite of a society built against them does not mean all members of their group have “just as much power” as the members of the privileged. It’s kind of like saying women have as much power as men… even though study after study proves there’s fewer in positions of power, that they’re socialized not to even try for the same positions as men, that more is expected of them when performing the same task, and that they’re paid less for their work.

Wait, that sounds familiar… 

Oh yeah, it’s because all of those studies exist for whites/passing white and people of color!

Here’s a tip: telling people they’re not oppressed doesn’t actually solve oppression and until you solve that, racism is alive and kicking, because it is all about prejudice and power. Just because you don’t recognize the passive privilege doesn’t mean it’s not there.
